Volunteers welcomed back to Lovelace hospitals
In order to protect the health and safety of our Lovelace Health System volunteers, we paused our Volunteer Program in March of 2020 at the very beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak. We considered allowing volunteers to return last fall and then the second surge of COVID-19 hit delaying their return.
There has been great care, concern and planning in coordinating the return of our volunteers. We are pleased to announce that as of Monday, June 7, we will be allowing volunteers back into all of our Lovelace hospitals.
Groups of five volunteers on a scheduled basis will be welcomed back after undergoing a re-orientation of the standard hospital policy and HIPAA requirements and specialized training relative to COVID-19 policies, procedures and precautions. The COVID-19 training has all been reviewed and approved by Ardent Corporate Risk, Legal and Regulatory, as well as Division Chief Medical Office, Dr. Vesta Sandoval. Volunteers will be required to complete the screening app each day they volunteer.
We appreciate your patience during the hiatus of our volunteers and we welcome them back with open arms.
